LinkedIn went through a bunch of changes in 2023, aiming to up the ante on content quality and quantity. Some folks aren't thrilled, noticing a dip in views and interaction. Why?
Because the algorithm is giving a thumbs-up to content creators – those regularly sharing their expertise and sparking conversations.
So, it's time for a content strategy rethink (we'll chat about that in a future newsletter) and maybe, just maybe, it's time to hit the Creator Mode switch to amp up your LinkedIn game.
Why bother? Well, turning on Creator Mode boosts your content's reach and engagement, helping you grow your followers. This is a must if you're serious about using LinkedIn to grow your business!
But here's the catch: lots of folks either forget to turn on Creator Mode or miss out on its awesome features. Let's fix that!
What Can You Do with Creator Mode?
Switching on Creator Mode unlocks a bunch of cool features:
1-Add Hashtags to Your Profile Intro:
Toss in hashtags in your Intro Section to showcase your key topics, making it easier for folks to discover and follow you.
2-Change 'Connect' to 'Follow':
Your Intro's main button changes to 'Follow,' and a 'Follow+' link appears on your posts, nudging people to follow you, not just connect.
3-Boost Featured Section Visibility:
Your Featured Section climbs up your profile, ensuring more eyes on whatever content you decide to showcase.
4-Highlight Original Posts in Activity:
Your Activity Section showcases only your original posts, making it more enticing for people to check out and engage with your content.
5-Automated Following with Connection Requests:
If someone sends you a connection request, they automatically follow you while waiting for your response. Even if the connection is a no-go, they'll still follow your posts until they manually unfollow.
6-Add External Website Links:
Toss in a link to an external website in your Intro Section and customize the link text.
7-Become a Suggested Creator:
Get in the spotlight as a suggested creator for others to follow on LinkedIn.
8-Unlock LinkedIn Live and Audio Events:
Go live with LinkedIn Live and host Audio events, creating communities and driving folks towards your content.
9-Access Creator Analytics:
Dive into Creator Analytics to track how your content performs over time.
Basically, it's a content creator's dream package!
How to Activate Creator Mode
Click on your profile image, then hit 'View profile.'
Scroll down to the Resources Section, find 'Creator Mode,' and click it.
Add your hashtags in the Creator Hub.
Toggle Creator Mode on and hit 'Done.'
Voila! You're in Creator Mode.
Who Should Use Creator Mode?
Creator Mode isn't for everyone. It's ideal for folks looking to boost their following and raise awareness about their goods or services by delivering valuable content.
