Salary range: $122K to $140K*

Position Overview

The People Operations Business Partner represents the discipline of human resources to designated functions. The People Operations Business Partner provides viable recommendations, aiding line management in order to make informed decisions. The People Operations Business Partner acts as an advocate to employees and partners with functional leadership to implement business practices that shape the Vibrant culture and centers equity. As part of the larger People Ops team, the People Ops Business Partner works collaboratively with other departments to help drive People Operations initiatives that focus on operational efficiency and our core values.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations/Business Partnership:

  • Forms effective relationships with client groups and consults with line management, providing pro-active guidance, input, advice, and as applicable.

  • Ensures compliance with core processes and relevant policies and practices.

  • Serve as an unbiased resource in the corrective action process; manages and resolves employee relations issues.

  • Conducts effective, thorough, and objective interviews, investigations, and documentation; updates managers as appropriate.

  • Coach, counsel, and guide managers and employees, handling questions, interpreting and administering employment contracts and helping resolve work-related escalations.

  • Ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse organization and team members with a wide range of work experience.

  • Provides employees with employee development planning and counseling.

  • Workforce Planning/Talent Acquisition/Compensation

  • Support departmental hiring initiatives and organizational design

  • Liaise with People Ops departments to ensure quality on-boarding of new hires.

  • Work with compensation & benefits manager on benchmarking and analysis of roles.

  • Coordinate compensation decisions and processes.

  • Learning and Development

  • Manage the performance management process to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within the company.

  • Deliver small group training to new and existing managers on SMART goal setting and year-end performance review best practices.

  • Provide guidance for career development and performance improvement.

  • Partner with leaders to plan and implement talent assessments and succession planning.

  • Business literacy about the business unit's functions and business contributions, its culture and organization, and its mid- and longer-range.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS College degree (Human Resources, Sociology, or Psychology) preferred, plus 5-8 years of HR/Benefits/Recruitment or 8 years of practical experience in these areas.

  • In-depth knowledge of labor and employment and high-volume employee relations.

  • Experience supporting a 24-hour operation preferred, healthcare/non-profit or call center.

  • PHR/SHRM certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Will frequently communicate over video calls with internal and external stakeholders to provide status updates and potential roadblocks

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 50% of the time while reviewing data on a screen
